My Thoughts
Aimed at girls age 11+ I wasn't really sure what to expect, I've watched Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging but I haven't read any of the other books before. In all honesty - I enjoyed it! There are a lot of funny moments and I found myself giggling (like a school girl!) on almost every page! I don't think it mattered that I wasn't familiar with the other books but I do think it would have been wonderful to have read the three Tallulah Casey books in sequence.
It's easy to see that Louise Rennison has worked hard and deserved all the achievements she has aquired for her imaginative books full of love, laughter and friendship. I adore the fact that Louise Rennison has taken inspiration from classic literature - although I'm pleased to say that besides a take on the name "taming of the shrew" the only other comparison would be comedy and fortunately not mysogyny!
