Merry Christmas from Amazon ... In March?

Last Thursday, I ordered a special gift for my Niece's very first birthday from Amazon and I paid extra for delivery to be on the following Monday.

I didn't really give it much thought, although why would I? I often order from amazon!

However, I was really upset to get an email on Monday morning - the same day delivery was expected, explaining that there was a delay with the warehouse.

Now I know these things can happen but what I thought was really rubbish was not bothering to tell me about the delay until the very same day delivery was expected!

I've cancelled the order and chosen the same product in a different design and paid extra again for next day delivery in the hope that this one will actually turn up on time!

I naturally sent the customer service team an email about it and what I got in return was a cr4ppy bog standard reply explaining that warehouse delays occur and the old scape goat that even though you pay extra for a specific delivery date it's still only an estimate (seriously!) it didn't have any relevance or even acknowlege that my complaint was specifically relevant to not being told about the delay until the same day delivery was expected and to top it all off, this email ended with:

"We wish you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas" ... In MARCH?

Love amazon but what really rubbish customer service!
